A heavy stone figure of a male 'Noh' actor - a Japanese stage performer, with a fan in hand. The detailing of this 'okimono' is beautiful and his theatrical robe features 'crane mons' and exotic flowers. The palette of colours is what attracts the eye - the bronzes, old gold and coppery verdigris. He comes on his own wood stand. The statue looks classically beautiful and will be a focal point in any room as well as a conversation piece.

Noh is often based on tales from traditional literature with a supernatural being transformed into human form as a hero narrating a story. Noh integrates masks, costumes and various props in a dance-based performance, requiring highly trained actors and musicians. Emotions are primarily conveyed by stylized conventional gestures while the iconic masks represent the roles such as ghosts, women, children, and the elderly.
