Large hand painted Satsuma style floor vase, made in China. Both the front and back have scenic landscape medallions painted on the neck and main body against an elaborate gold-scrolled and moriage (raised dots) background. The medallions are separated with orange chrysanthemums against a diapered background in gold. The body of the vase has opposing traditional floral, tree and bird scenes - primarily colours are orange, gold, beige with hints of green and blue. Signed on the underside with the factory marks in red together with decorator marks. Circa 1960s. Good condition with minor loss in places. 23 1/4" high x 9" diameter. 8 pounds.
