Very attractive as well as rare tin-glazed pottery plate (otherwise known as faience or majolica).This 17/18th. Century hand carved is hand painted in rich blues & white with a complex design featuring opposing dragons, birds riding dolphins and a meticulous border. From southern Europe or the Islamic States. 17th/18th century. A beautiful plate with a lot of history!
Condition is very good with typical glaze crazing and loss of glaze in places. 9" diameter x 1/2" tall. 1 pound.
