Take a minute to look at the level of quality of the irredescant silver, pink and grey mother of pearl shell inlay work in these corner Orienal chairs.  Made in China, probably between the 1960's and 70's, the rosewood is mature, aged and of a high quality, unlike newer rosewoods.  The wood is satin smooth and beautifylly grained.
Inlaid with Mother of Pearl from the back support, to the horseshoe shaped rail, to the seat, apron and down the legs. The mother of pearl glistens beautifully in the sunlight - and depicts mainly birds - a dove, amongst prunus flowers (cherry blossoms) and fine leaf work. The central medallion has a Ruyi shaped border.
Frame supported by lower cross stretchers under seat.
Heavy, stable and solid pieces - these chairs will compliment many a style of home.
The chairs are in very good condition partly due to the quality of the matured rosewood which has not shrunk/warped like newer rosewoods..
Suberb additions to any home.
