Large Chinese porcelain blue & white Lotus Flower planter with under plate / drip tray. The plant pot is hand painted in a rich underglaze blue Lotus flower design repeated 3 times around body and framed with lovely scrolled border patterns on the top and bottom. Various hues of blue from light blue to ink blue. A striking heavy planter with the useful underplate to prevent those 'over watering' incidents. Fresh and crisp in appreance. Not hallmarked. Condition is excellent with some kiln imperfections seen on the bottom side of the foot rims. Vintage Mid to Late 20th Century Condition: Very good. The bottom of the planter is not chipped. A manufacturing/firing flaw during production on the flat side of the base rim, not visible when in use. Together the pieces are 13 1/4" tall x 17" diameter. Apart the planter is 12 3/4" tall x 17" diameter. The under plate is 13 1/2" diameter x 2" tall. Total weight is 19 pounds.
