Highly unusual antique Japanese glazed pottery Gu-Form or Flared Beaker vase with an attractive floral scene around the body. When seen in person this vase does not disappoint at all. This is a large vase that is hand painted with wrap-around scene portraying a profusely flowering tree painted in an Interesting color palette including brown, green, red and yellows against an off-white glaze background with fine craquelure. Has a brown dressing on the upper flaring rim. Marked on the underside with the artist's hallmark painted in brown. Condition is very good with chips, cracks or repairs. Some signs of age expected on such a piece. Super peice for tall flowers or just as a display vase in its' own right. Early 20th Century. A very interesting Japanese peice, quite collectable and when seen in person does not dissapoint. An impressive piece. 17 1/2" tall x 8 1/2" diameter. 8 pounds.
