High Back Antique Chinese Officials Golden Elm Wood Yoke Back Armchairs or Side Chairs - a Pair

Antique pair of Chinese Officials arm chairs from Southern China. These chairs are made from honey coloured elm wood with a shaped and conforming back splat topped by 'a yoke' shaped crest rail.
An auspicious little bat is carved on each front panel just below the seat. The seats are a good height - 21.5" and with the arms, they are easy to get up from. Carved insets on straight legs with decorative box stretchers. All wood construction with through tenon joints.
These are genuine items, bought in the famous Hollywood Road, Hong Kong in the 1980's, not reproductions. An eye catching pair of armchairs. 
Chinese, First Quarter 20th century, possibly late 19th. Century.

Signs of very old style wood filler in some areas from previous restorations. Overall in good condition.  Expected and age related wood shrinkage & movement.
