Whimsical and classic antique Chinese hand painted blue and white ginger jar in underglaze blue portraying a wrap around scene of a pine forest and bamboo grove over a white glaze with celadon tones. Retains original cover with matching bamboo detailing. Comes complete with a later wooden stand that fits perfectly. No markings. Mid to late 19th Century. Very good condition with manufacturing flaws and surface imperfections typical of this period. A very nice display piece or ornament for the home.
The jar is 9" high x 8 1/2" diameter. With the stand the height is raised to 13".
