Antique Qing dynasty Shiwan stoneware Martaban jar lamp conversion with hard wood base & top fixtures. Shiwan stonewares were made in the Guangdong Province, Southern China. The term Martaban originates from the port City in Burma where these jars were shipped to in large quantities. The jars were used to store oils and other liquids.
The shade appears to be silk with a subtle lined effect. A gorgeous combination of colours - the rich green and the warm golden silk.
The electrical fixture with the "LEVITON' factory mark.
The jar is 19th Century. The lamp conversion probably done around 1930 - 1950.
Condition is very good and a elegant must have for the home!
24" to finial. 16 1/2" to top of electrical fixture. Jar is 11" high x 8" diameter. Shade is 10" high x 19" diameter.
7 pounds total.  Corded with 2 pin plug.
